Apple Delays iCloud Drive Folder Sharing to Spring 2020

Apple has quietly pushed back the date of iCloud Drive Folder Sharing feature in macOS Catalina to spring 2020. The feature was initially expected to launch “later this fall.”

iCloud Folder Sharing would have turned iCloud into a Dropbox-like service. Users could easily share files on their iCloud Drive with others using a private link. Users will also be able to keep track of changes made in the folder and add new files to it as well once they accessed the link. Also Read:serial keys

While it is possible to privately share files in iCloud Drive, it is limited to files and does not include folders which makes it less useful.

iCloud Drive folder sharing was present in the early beta builds of iOS 13 before Apple removed it. Since then, the company has not talked about the feature except for mentioning on the macOS Catalina page that it would release later this fall. Overnight though, the company has updated the text to reflect that the feature will launch ‘this spring.’ The move comes less than 24 hours after Apple released macOS Catalina to the public.

The iOS 13 features page still lists the feature as coming this fall, though that is unlikely to happen since iCloud Drive folder sharing feature will go live on both macOS and iOS at the same time. Also Read:Permanently Delete iCloud Account with/without Password

Many users would be able to transition to iCloud Drive for file sharing and storing purposes once the folder sharing feature goes live. The Following Table Lists Apple Arcade Games by Genre, Multiplayer Support, Controller Support

Just yesterday Apple published a list of games that will be available with the launch of Apple Arcade. The Apple Arcade service looks promising with 100 exclusive games being offered at just $4.99 for the entire family. Even the Apple Arcade Hands-On has been mostly positive. A Reddit user has now shared a full list of games that will debut with Apple Arcade.

The Redditor has shared an AirTable which lists the Apple Arcade games according to Name, Age Rating, Category, Size, Release Date, and Language. Furthermore, the table also mentions whether or not the games support local multiplayer and game controllers. At the time of launch, 28 games will support third party controllers and only 10 Apple Arcade games support multiplayer. Currently, Apple is offering more than 50 games and the list is expected to grow. Also Read:Welltorrent Proxy List

All Apple Arcade games will be stripped from ads and in-app purchases. Most importantly you can access Apple Arcade games on all Apple devices including iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Furthermore, Apple Arcade supports family sharing with up to six members and all the games can be played offline.
Our Take

Apple Arcade is set to be launched on September 19th. Apple Arcade subscription seems like a value for money subscription. Apple Arcade is definitely a steal at just $5 for the entire family. The Arcade subscription offers games that are highly-priced on other platforms. Apple Arcade subscription seems like a value for money subscription. Moreover, the service is exclusive to Apple devices and in the future, it might convince Android users to switch to Apple

We are also not sure about how Apple will maintain the exclusivity tag for Arcade games. Typically developers prefer releasing their games for multiple platforms and Apple is likely to have a hard time keeping the games exclusive to Arcade

9 Things You Must Do Before You Sell, or Trade-in Your iPhone

Apple is going to announce new iPhones shortly. If you’re planning to sell, trade-in, or give away your old iPhone to buy the new iPhone 11 then here are 10 things you must to do.
Things You Must Do Before You Sell, Trade-in or Give Away Your iPhone

Follow these simple steps to make sure that your personal data such as emails, text messages, etc. cannot be accessed by a stranger and you don’t have any issues when you switch to the new iPhone.
1. Unpair Apple Watch

If you paired an Apple Watch with your iPhone, unpair your Apple Watch.
2. Back up your iPhone

Before you erase your iPhone’s data, it is important that you first take a backup of your data, so that you can restore it to your new iPhone.

You can backup to your local machine via iTunes or backup to Apple’s servers via iCloud, or do both.

Back up via iCloud

iCloud automatically backs up most of the important data on your iPhone on a daily basis. But you can manually take a backup one last time before we show you how to delete your personal data.

Please ensure you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network.

Launch the Settings app

Navigate to [your name] > iCloud -> iCloud Backup

Tap on Back Up Now

This can take several minutes depending on when your iPhone was last backed up to iCloud.

Backup using iTunes

Connect your iPhone to the computer that you normally sync it with.

Open iTunes and select your iPhone under Devices in the left-hand navigation pane

Right-click (or Control-click) the device and select Back Up

Note: If you’ve purchased some items on your iPhone and haven’t transferred these purchases to your computer yet, right-click the iPhone and choose “Transfer Purchases” to transfer the purchases prior to backup.

Note that even if you have iCloud Backup enabled, you can still manually take a backup through iTunes.
3. Sign out of iCloud and the iTunes & App Store

If you’re using iOS 10.3 or later, tap Settings > [your name]. Scroll down and tap Sign Out. Enter your Apple ID password and tap Turn Off.

If you’re using iOS 10.2 or earlier, tap Settings > iCloud > Sign Out. Tap Sign Out again, then tap Delete from My [device] and enter your Apple ID password. Then go to Settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID > Sign Out.
4. Turn off Find My iPhone

You’ll have to make sure that Find My iPhone is turned off. You may be prompted to enter the Apple ID and password.

To turn off Find My iPhone:

Navigate to Settings > [your name] > iCloud >Find My iPhone

Tap the Find My iPhone toggle to turn it off

You may be prompted to enter the Apple ID and password.

If you don’t have the iPhone, and if you’re using iCloud and Find My iPhone on the device, sign in to iCloud.com or the Find My iPhone app on another device, select the device, and click Erase. After the device has been erased, click Remove from Account.
5. Deregister iMessage on your iPhone

Unless you explicitly turn-off iMessage, there’s a possibility that your iPhone continues getting iMessages addressed to you, even after it has been sold. To avoid this, turn off iMessage by following these steps.

Tap Settings and navigate to Messages, then tap on the toggle next to iMessage to turn it off.

If you don’t have access to your iPhone, you can deregister iMessage online using this link. After you complete deregistration, your phone number is removed from iMessage services.
6. Erase all your iPhone’s Data and Settings

Now that you’ve taken a backup of your data, you can follow these steps to delete the data and settings from your iPhone.

Note: It is advisable that your iPhone has a full charge or connected to a power source before beginning this process.

Launch Settings app

Tap on General

Scroll down to the bottom and tap on Reset

Tap on Erase All Content and Settings option

If you’ve set a passcode or Restrictions passcode, it will prompt you to enter the passcode.

After entering the passcode, it will prompt you one last time if you want to delete data and settings from your iPhone.

Tap on ‘Erase iPhone’ button

During this process, your iPhone will display the Apple logo and a progress bar. The process may take a few minutes to several hours based on the version of your iPhone and the amount of data on your iPhone. If you’ve jailbroken your iPhone then it is advisable to erase all your iPhone’s data and settings by plugging it your computer and clicking on the “Restore” button.

To be on the safe side, before erasing your data, you can sign out and unlink your device from online services like Google, Dropbox, Pandora etc.
7. Remove iPhone From Your Apple ID Account

It may also be a good idea to unregister your iPhone from Apple’s website so that it is no longer linked to your Apple ID.

Go to: https://appleid.apple.com/account/manage

Log in if not already logged in.

Click on your iPhone under Devices.

Click on the “Remove from Account” button in the popup.
8. Remove SIM

Before shipping or handing your phone off to the new owner, make sure you remove your SIM if you’re on a GSM network or request deactivation of your device by contacting your carrier if you’re on a CDMA network.
9. Unlock your phone

If you’re planning to sell your iPhone directly to a buyer then you can ask for a much higher value if you unlock your phone, enabling it to run on most GSM networks all over the world. If your contract period with AT&T is over, you can request an unlock from them by following the instructions in this post. Also Read:h33t proxy

That’s it! As you can see, it is very simple to prepare your iPhone for resale. If you’re planning to sell your iPhone, be sure to check out the best places to sell or trade-in your iPhone to get the most money.

How To Enable The Floating Keyboard In Gboard

How To Enable The Floating Keyboard In Gboard

On-screen keyboards are close to imitating the physical keyboards we were so used to (thank you Nokia and Blackberry!) But since phones have gone all screen, we are dependent on the screen keyboards which have improved way too fast. Swiftkey and Gboard have raised the bar rather high and thanks to the constant updates, the apps are improved for faster performance bundled with new features. One such underrated feature is the floating keyboard mode which saves a lot of hassle for people who live on their keyboard. This enables users to get a lot more screen space and as the keyboard is floating, you get to move it anywhere you like. Today’s tutorial will focus on this small yet powerful feature. So, scroll below and know how to enable the floating keyboard mode in Google’s Gboard.

Download Gboard
How To Enable The Floating Keyboard Mode In Google’s Gboard

STEP 1: Open any app where you can type, like Messages or WhatsApp. When the keyboard is visible, you will see the Google logo. Tap on it.

STEP 2: You’ll see a host of options. Click on the very first option.

STEP 3: If you don’t see any such icon, click on the three dots and you’ll find it there.

STEP 4: Once the floating keyboard mode is enabled, you will see the keyboard in undocked mode. To adjust the size of the undocked keyboard, drag the blue highlighted corners and scale it.

You can type with this petite keyboard and move it on your whim. While moving it, the keyboard becomes translucent which in turn shows what’s in the background.

STEP 5: If you want to switch back to the regular mode, just drag the keyboard to the bottom of the display.

Here’s the video for a better understanding:

Code in Latest iOS 12.2 Beta Suggests AirPower Launch Coming Soon

Code in Latest iOS 12.2 Beta Suggests AirPower Launch Coming Soon

Apple's long-awaited AirPower could be launching in the near future, based on coding changes that 9to5Mac's Guilherme Rambo says he found in the latest iOS 12.2 beta, released yesterday morning.

There have been "significant changes" to the wireless charging code in the beta update, including "code responsible for identifying that two devices are charging on the same mat," which could indicate that Apple is planning an AirPower launch soon.

Apple's AirPower charging mat will be able to charge an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods(with a new wireless charging case) all at once. The AirPower charging mat was first announced in 2017 alongside the iPhone X, but has seen production difficulties that led to multiple delays.

In the iOS 12.2 beta specifically, there are changes to the 3D animations that are displayed on the largest of the charging devices to let you know charging levels.

Apple has been silent on the AirPower ever since announcing it, but there have been continual signs that the Cupertino company is still working on it, including multiple recent rumors that a launch is happening in the spring.

Apple on Monday introduced a new iPad Air and an iPad mini 5, and today introduced refreshed iMacs, suggesting it is perhaps aiming to roll out all of its spring hardware updates ahead of its services-focused event on March 25.

Ahead of when the iPads and iMacs launched, we heard from a source that suggested Apple would debut new products on Monday through Wednesday, with a new iPod touchset to be announced tomorrow. We haven't heard word of an AirPower launch or an AirPods launch with new wireless charging case, but that doesn't mean it's not going to happen.

There's a chance we will see AirPower and AirPods this week, but if not, it certainly seems like we're at least a bit closer to a debut. Also Read:How to Fix Windows was Unable to Format SD Card/USB Drive

Top 7 Best New Android Apps for March 2019

Top 7 Best New Android Apps for March 2019
A new month calls for a fresh list of apps. Yep, you read that right. The Guiding Tech team is back with yet another list of the best new Android apps that were released in the last couple of months.

The month of March 2019 is all about new unique apps and customization apps. From an exciting little navbar app to a tape-measuring app, we have them all neatly packaged in this post.

Let's have a look!
1. LANGUAGE NAVI

It's true that most Android apps are in English. However, it would be wrong to say that all apps are in English. If you want to explore apps in your native language that are not in your native language, then you are in luck. Language Navi will help you bridge the gap.

This nifty app converts text inside apps such as menus, buttons, and text snippets into a language of your choice. All you need to do is select the source and target language, and the rest will be taken care of by the app.

What you'll love about the app is its amazing array of supported languages, all thanks to its use of the Google Translate API.

Using this app is super easy. Simply open Language Navi, give the required permissions and tap on an app from the list (say, for instance, Google Play Books). Now, select the languages and hit launch.

Depending on the length of the text, the app may take some processing time. Speaking of the accuracy, most of the time it's spot and helps to get the meaning across. Also Read:5 Best Free Movie Streaming Sites like Pubfilm to Watch Movies Online 2019

2. YOUCAM VIDEO

YouCam Video is the new video-centric app in the social media space. This neat editor enhances your videos by introducing a host of different effects, filters, text, etc.

And if that isn't enough, you can even stitch together a couple of photos together to make a snazzy clip. And let me tell you, the transition effects can jazz up even the plainest videos.

The app's interface is a no brainer. Almost all the functions are self-explanatory. The only thing that might bother you is the watermark.

Thankfully you can remove it by upgrading to the paid version.

Download YouCam Video
3. AROUNDSOUND AUDIO RECORDER

If you are someone who loves keeping voice notes for their ease of access, Aroundsound Audio Recorder is the perfect app for you. Compared to the stock recorder, this app gives you customization options like crop, edit, renaming, bookmark, or save an old one as a new recording.

The best thing is that these recordings get synced to the cloud storage services. Also, it will pick up the location on its own and store the recordings as per the time of the day. Say for instance you have recorded a voice note at 11 PM at Delhi; it'll be named automatically as Night Voice Notes, Delhi.

This naming convention is good as long as you don't record plenty of notes in a day. If you do, you can always change it via the Edit option.

You can also pause a voice note midway. Tapping on the three-dot menu will give you the editing options.

Download Aroundsound Audio Recorder
4. EASY PEDOMETER

As suggestive of its name, Easy Pedometer helps you calculate your steps and keep a tab on how much you have walked or ran.

You can set a goal for yourself and well as see the time you have been active. The app awards you with cool titles when you complete milestones.

What I loved about Easy Pedometer is that there's an ultra-cool lock screen widget to keep you motivated throughout the day. If you are planning to get fit by making the best of busy day, this is a must-have app.

I couldn't get my pedometer to go beyond 200 steps. Sigh.

Download Easy Pedometer
5. SMART NAVIGATION BAR

App makers started experimenting with the phone's nav bar after several phone makers began ditching the physical buttons in favor of gestures and software keys.

Though apps like Navbar Apps let you have a static image on top of the navbar, Smart navigation bar goes a step further and lets you add a moving or animated image to it.

The developer Yogesh Dama has crafted this smart implementation and he is known for bringing Android Pie-like volume controls to non-Android P devices.

Just choose a picture which you want to display at the bottom. Next, select the animation rate.

You can also choose to include a few lines of text, though this step is not mandatory. Once done, all you have to do is save it and Ta-Da! Hello, new nav bar.

Though I didn't see a significant battery lose on my OnePlus 6, you might want to keep the battery usage under check during the first few days while using this app.

Download Smart Navigation Bar
6. MOASURE

Yes, that's the actual name of the app. No kidding! Though Moasure is almost a year old, the reason for its inclusion in this list is because it recently crossed over from the paid zone to the free zone.

As you may have guessed already, this is a smart measure system which uses your phone's camera and its sensors to calculate the distance between two points or to find out the angle between two walls.

Setting up the app is a bit of a task. You'll need to calibrate the sensors, just as you'd calibrate a map. There are various tutorials inside the app to help you with the measurements. You can use your phone as a measuring tape with this app.

Download Moasure
7. AUTO STAMPER

Are you tired of checking the photo Info tab for date and time? If yes, the Auto Stamper will be your new BFF. This neat little app stamps the date and time on the corner of every photo so that you know when a particular picture was taken.

The best thing about this app is that it works on top of the stock camera. All you have to do is select the date-time format and select the font. Furthermore, this app gives you three additional logo options to choose from.

Auto Stamper works automatically, and you do not have to worry about giving permissions each time you click a photo.

Download Auto Stamper
HELLO, UNIQUE APPS!

These are some of the apps that were released in the last couple of months. The best thing is that each is unique. So which one of these will you get first? My guess is Moasure.
